  • A) Enter the number of animals that calved in each of the preceding calving periods.
  • B) Enter a "1" if estrus will be synchronized in the cows or a "0" if estrus will not be synchronized.
  • C)Enter the previous calving date for each of the groups (the calving date is the mid point of the previous calving period).
  • D)Enter the ending date for the first 20 day breeding period of the breeding season. If you choose to use estrous synchronization enter the first day of the breeding season.
  • E)Enter the percent of animals that are cycling by the end of each 20 day breeding period (Percent cycling is given in the Management Information section [III; part A] based cow body condition at calving and days postpartum).
  • F)If cows are estrous synchronized with a protocol that will induce estrous cycling status enter the percentage of anestrous animals that will be induced (Percent of anestrous response is presented in the Management Information section [ III; part E] based on synchronization protocol used).
  • G)Enter the conception rate for each of the groups (Conception rates are given in the Management Information Section [III; part D] based on days postpartum).
  • C1) This number will be needed for the yearly economic summary. (Total # of cows in herd)
  • C2) This number will be needed for the yearly economic summary. (Total # of cows pregnant after breeding season)

  • H) Enter the date that the calves will be weaned.
  • I) Enter the birth weight for the calves born to cows. Found in the Management Information Section [I; part I].
  • J) Enter the average daily gain for the calves Found in the Management Information Section [I; part J], based on the sex of the calf.
  • K) If artificial insemination was used enter the additional pounds of calf weaned due to use of genetically superior sires. Found in the Management Information section [III; part G].
  • L) Enter the percent calf loss found under Management Information section [III; part C].
